Why Bodysuits Should be in Your Closet
Posted on 05 December 2016
Guess what late 80’s and early 90’s fashion trend is making a comeback? You guessed it… Bodysuits and I could not be more excited! Crop tops saved us from going through the trouble of tucking in our shirts. Now that bodysuits are back in style, the rumpled tucked in top is now being replaced with a seamlessly tucked in top, saving us from waistline muffin top.
Once you go bodysuit… you will never want to go back to traditional blouses…
There are several issues we encounter when we tuck in a shirt. Adding more fabric to your waistline makes for an uncomfortable fit. More fabric also adds inches to your midsection and shortens your torso. I admit, I get aggravated when I have to continuously re-tuck my shirt.
The bottom half of a bodysuit is similar to underwear. That means you are wearing less fabric under your jeans and skirts, creating a seamless look and putting an end to a rumpled derriere.
Bodysuits offer beautiful silhouettes when paired with a black mini-skirt and your fresh morning silhouette will last all day without the inconvenience of re-tucking.
The Learned Skill of Snapping
One chief complaint that keeps women from trying bodysuits is the inconvenience of unsnapping when you have to go to the bathroom. Don’t worry… snapping and unsnapping is a learned skill that you can easily achieve. Try it out and I promise you will be a pro by the end of the day.
Dress Up or Down
Bodysuits fit in well at the workplace. Take a nice sleek halter bodysuit and pair it with a blazer for the workday. When it comes time to meet everyone for drinks after work, simply take off the blazer and touch-up your makeup. Your look will be fresh, flirty and fun.
Bodysuits were a fashion staple in the 80’s and abandoned in the 90’s only to be replaced with fashion faux pas flannel shirts of the grunge era. Thanks to Beyoncé and Lady GaGa the 80’s bodysuit has been updated and starting to trend again. Are you daring enough to wear your bodysuit all on its own like Beyoncé and Lady GaGa?
