Local Flavor: Live After Five
Every spring and fall, downtown Baton Rouge hosts a concert series called Live After Five! Located in Repentance Park, this concert series highlights local bands and creates the perfect atmosphere for Baton Rougeians of all walks of life to come together and appreciate music. This past Friday, Travis Thibodaux and his band had men, women, and children up and groovin’ with covers of classic songs and also some swamp pop originals.
If you’re like me, staying out past 9 pm can be a serious struggle. Especially after a long day at work. But with the knowledge that Live After Five ended at 8, I found the strength to drink an iced coffee, slip on my fave new sandals and sunnies (check ‘em out below!), and actually leave my apartment to interact with the world! Drama queen, I know. But it was so worth it. I definitely recommend getting out there before the last concert of the spring on May 26th.
Here are the rest of the bands you can catch!
May 5: AM/FM (variety)
May 12: Todd O'Neill Band (country)
May 19: Hai Karate (variety)
May 26: Flow Tribe (funk/rock)
Until next time,
