Local Flavor: District Donuts
Posted on August 12 2017
If you live anywhere between Nola and BR, you've probably been to, seen the Instagram posts from, or at least heard of District Donuts. These monstrous donuts are big, delicious, and anything but ordinary. Between the four locations, the menu of donuts changes every day and the specialty is non-traditional flavors. A few include: Elvis, Ginger Mint Julep, Late Night Snack, Funfetti, Root Beer Float, Cereal and Milk, and y'all this list could go on forever. My personal fave is the Vietnamese Iced Coffee donut. The new list of donuts is posted every morning on District's Instagram.
Open till 9 PM, District isn't just for breakfast. They serve up a mean slider as well. Some are seasonal meats, some are served year round, all are delicious.
My latest fare from District Donuts was the famous "Croque-nut Madame" and it literally blew my socks off. It is described as "Nueske's smoked ham, havarti cheese, bechamel, and dijon all griddled on a donut and topped with a sunny-side-up egg." Take in all the wonderful:
If you haven't had it yet, District's coffee is nothing to sleep on... get it? Sleep. Coffee. But in all seriousness, the coffee is good enough to make sure I never go to a Starbucks again.
Now that your mouth is watering, go on and make your way over to District Donuts. Who knows, you might see me there!
Until next time,
